Remove Protected View from Word 2010: Disable Yellow Bar With Enable Editing Button

These days many times we need to edit or to work on online word document stored on remote servers… though there is a direct editing facility already given in latest Microsoft Office version… but with an added security and confirmation notification… the protected view

So now what is this protected view applied in Microsoft Office when we open an online document?

Though; I know there is nothing secret I am going to reveal what this (Protected View) band is as everything is clearly mentioned over the band… this is the added feature to protect us from any malicious code from entering into our system when we open online document and until unless we know the source is safe we should not click on enable editing button… but the only problem with this button is …. even if we have enabled editing to a file but sometime later if we have to again edit the same file… we have to re enable editing.. some time this is very annoying… now what if we know the source is safe – how can we disable this enable editing.

Steps to disable the Protected View yellow band to permanently turn off the enable editing button.

The below picture shows you how this bar appears when you open an online document….

This feature due to which this yellow bar appears is called protected view which is enabled by default, this will help you protect you from any malicious, any other dangerous document which might contain virus that may infect your computer.

In order to disable this bar click blue colored File menu >> Info and click Protected View Settings and under protected view settings – uncheck these check boxes shown below in the image and close word

Now the next time when you open a online document again it will be automatically open for direct editing with out any issues, the yellow bar of protected view will disappear for all the documents you open after making these changes.
